We received 5 inches of new snow in the last 2 days with a lot of wind. It was good sugary and not dry and fluffy. The temps are going to be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s for the next 5 days, with a chance of snow next Tuesday and Wednesday. Temps going back down Friday the 21st through the following Thursday, better chances of snow starting the 21st through Christmas and possibly the weekend before New Years. The warmer weather will help the snow setup and add to the base.
Trails open this Saturday. Most likely won’t be groomed until the afternoon of the 15th. They are in great shape around us. You can get all the way south and north. It does get thinner by Big Hill Lot, north. It does get a little thinner to Lead and Mt Meadow (Deerfield), but it is ridable at this point. You can get to the Clinton Overlook (way south). Snow is better south than north. You can get to Spearfish Canyon Lodge and Buckhorn as well and I believe Cement Ridge.
The lot across the road was plowed late last night and we did get a dusting after that. It is safe to unload over there.
We still have a couple of cabins open after Christmas and maybe a few more starting the 30th or 31st. We have openings before Christmas as well.
